How can students request permission to live off campus? Do commuter students need to complete a housing application? How many single rooms are available? Can a student move off campus in the middle of the year?
Please join us for a conversation about RMC’s four-year residential requirement, housing policies, and the upcoming 2027-2028 housing process. We recognize that students often turn to their professors, advisors, and trusted faculty and staff members for guidance. Our goal is to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the whys and hows of Residence Life so you feel better equipped to support students as they navigate their housing options.
While Residence Life cannot build new residence halls or control the temperature in every room, we can help students understand their options, navigate challenges, and make informed decisions about where they live.
We’ll walk through common questions, explain the reasoning behind our policies, share what’s changing for the 2027–2028 housing selection process, and discuss how we can work together to better support our students. There will be plenty of time for questions and conversation, so come ready to learn, share, and get a glimpse behind the curtain!
